The Police Service Commission(PSC) and the Nigeria Police Force has started the recruitment of 50,000 police constables, following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s approval.
The Head of Protocol and Public Affairs at the Commission, Torty Njoku Kalu, dropped a statement on Thursday announcing that the portal will be opened from Monday 15th December 2025, and will close on Sunday, 25th January 2026, during which eligible Nigerians are expected to submit their applications online.
It assured that the exercise would be conducted in the “most transparent, merit-based and credible manner,” noting that application is free as they would be no payment required at any stage of the process.
According to the statement, the commission has approved the opening of the recruitment portal for application of eligible holders of GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO or their equivalents with a minimum of five (5) credits including English Language and Mathematics in not more than two sittings to be recruited into general duty.
The statement explained that specialist cadre applicants must be holders of GCE, SSCE/NECO, Ordinary Level or their equivalents with a minimum of four (4) credits including English language and Mathematics in not more than two sittings.
It said a minimum of three (3) years experience and Trade Tests in relevant areas/fields is also required, adding that interested candidates must be Nigerian citizens by birth, and must be within the age range of 18years to 25years old for general duty; 18 to 28years for Specialists.
It also specified that every applicant must be physically, medically, and psychologically fit.
Not be less than 1.67m for male, and 1.64m for female in height for general duty only, it added.
