Court fines VeryDarkMan N500 million, and orders him to delete statements linking Bobrisky, Femi Falana and his son Falz

 

The High Court of Lagos has ruled against social media critic Martin's Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkman (VDM),

giving him an order to remove defamatory contents about prominent Human right activists and lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) and his son Folarin Falana, AKA Falz.

Justice M.O Idowu, presiding over the case (suit number ID/8584/GCM/2024). also gave an order to VDM to pay N500million damages for libel.

The posts that the social media criitic made on 24th September, 2024. Connecting Bobrisky, Femi Falana and his son Falz, he claimed were libelous, and damaging to their reputation.

Dawodu said; "According to the applicants (The Falana's), the defendant (VDM) knew the statement of Bobrisky's claim were not true but false accusations, but he went ahead to publish them, to injure their reputations".

" Further more, the defamatory statements about the Falana's, made by VDM are still trending on the defendant (VDM) various social media handles, and the injury to their reputation continues as long as those posts are still online".
