The World Bank reveals that they have released the sum of $45.5million to the Nigerian
Government under the identity for development project by the country's National Identity Management Commission.
The World Bank revealed this in a recent report. The project which kicked off in 2021 is aimed at increasing National Identity Number, NIN enrolment for Nigerians costs $430 million.
NIMC had previously announced in April 2024 that NIN enrolment increased to 107.3million far from the 148 million enrolees target in June 2024.
This comes after concerns were raised that citizens data are actually being sold for a price.
