FG to start home delivery of passport as from next year

The federal government has announced that Nigerians will have choice

of getting their passport delivered to them at their homes, offices or other places of work from beginning of next year.

The interior minister Olubunmi  Tunji-ojo revealed this at the opening ceremony of the 2023 Lagos state university  international week.

Ojo said;

"We have commenced our automation of our end-to-end passport application process, and we've given a timeline at which Nigerians will begin to experience the sweet experience".

"By implications Nigerians won't have to wait for two weeks before getting their passport".

"By January next year Nigerians will be able to complete their application process online, and by February next year with the collaboration of other relevant stakeholders, Nigerians will have their passports delivered at their offices, homes and other places of their choice".

"This of course will be extended to our visa application process. We are deploying technology to make the whole process as seamless as possible, to achieve this we've set the motion to open more visa application centers across the world".

 "In this regard we're also working on our visa-on-arrival policy . We're working with the ministry of foreign affairs to enforce the principle of the doctrine of reciprocity and a committee has been set up in the ministry to achieve this".
