Former deputy Speaker of the Ebonyi State house of Assembly defect from PDP to APC with over 500 supporters.

 

The former deputy speaker of the Ebonyi State house of Assembly Odefa Obasi Odefa has defected his

allegiance from the People's Democratic party (PDP) to the All progressive Congress  (APC)

The Ex-deputy Speaker revealed this in the states Government house in Abakaliki, Odefa brought along 500 supporters from the Onicha local government area in his defection.

He made the announcement during a visit to the Governor of Ebonyi State Governor Ogbonnaya Nwifuru at the Ebonyi State government house in the state capital Abakaliki in Ebonyi State.

Speaking on his defection, Odefa Obasi Odefa said his core reason of defecting to the All progressive Congress (APC) was to rally round the efforts of the Governor Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru in transforming the State having studied his good intentions as captured in his Manifesto.

Governor Ogbonnaya Nwifuru told the defectors that the All progressive Congress has an inclusive policy for everyone with good intentions of joining the party and also promised them of an equal opportunity within the party.

Odefa is a very well knowned politician of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, and his defection to the All Progressive Congress (APC) has really raised Eyebrows in the state.

Some people feels that Obasi Odefa made the right decision by defecting to APC,whereas some thinks that he should have remained in the PDP rather than defecting.
