The Nigerian Labour Congress has strongly criticised the government's actions, accusing it of waging a campaign against the organised body. This follows a recent raid on the NLC headquarters by security force personnels, which the police force claimed that they wanted to catch a terrorist suspect. The NLC had dismissed this explanation as a cover-up, sighting inconsistencies in the police narratives.
During a press conference which was held last Thursday in Abuja, the Nigerian Labour Congress condemned the raid and demanded an apology from the government, and the release of any detained individual and the return of seized items.
